In the third quarter of 2017, house prices increased by 10.4% year-on-year, with 38 783 households being traded - 23% more than in the same period of last year.

The housing market is in the pipeline and BOP is worried about the pace of lending. The institution has issued a warning to banks to prevent them from being exposed to a future crisis.

The Bank of Portugal activated the plan to prevent excess credit. Measures will only apply to new loans.
